Max O. Solano

Specializing in

  • Family Medicine

Dr. Max Solano grew up in Costa Rica and attended medical school and a Dermatology residency in San Jose, Costa Rica. A few years later he completed a residency in Pathology at Baylor University in Texas. After working as a Pathologist for many years, he felt the call to become a family physician and completed his Family Medicine residency at St. Vincent’s. His next career involved working for the prison system as the medical director. He gained valuable experience in treating infectious diseases such as HIV and was awarded the HIV Florida Helping Hands Award in 2009. When our residency needed another faculty member, he returned to share his knowledge in Dermatology, Pathology and Infectious Disease as well as oversee the residency’s Hospital Medicine service. But not one to stop his striving to learn, he also pursued and received a master’s degree in Evidence-Based Health Care at Oxford University, England in 2014. When not teaching the residents (and faculty) he loves spending time with his young granddaughter. He has found that she adds another level of joy to his life.
