Dr. Sonya Dominguez graduated from Brown University School of Medicine in 2002. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at St. Vincent's in 2005, where she was Chief Resident, and received the STFM Outstanding Teacher Award. She has been a Family Medicine Faculty and the Medical Director for St. Vincent's Associate Health and Wellness since 2005.
Dr. Dominguez is interested in Community Service and Leadership. She started a Reach Out and Read Chapter at the residency in 2003, which has distributed over 15,000 free books to children in Northeast Florida. She has been awarded several community service awards, including the Brown University/Fleet Fellows Award, the Jacksonville Times Union 40 Under 40 Award, and the Daughters of the American Revolution Award.
Dr. Dominguez recently completed a fellowship in Program Director Development, and has an academic interest in research in Emotional Intelligence and Medical Humanities.
She is happily married with two small children whom she talks about incessantly, and enjoys boating, walking her sweet dog, and being an overenthusiastic soccer mom.
