St. Vincent's HealthCare believes that quality of health is an advocacy issue that affects the entire community, not just its individual members.
In its outreach efforts, the Community Health Outreach Ministry attempts to address these quality-of-life and quality-of-health issues at both levels. And while there are a variety of programs that offer medical care to the indegent or to the working poor, there are often obstacles - most often, lack of transportation or inability to take time away from work - to overcome in order to secure such care. Through a variety of creative delivery mechanisms, such as harnessing the resources of local churches and parishes, and delivering medical care through four state of the art clinics-on-wheels, the Community Health Outreach Ministry works to eliminate barriers to care.
