Health Notes: Aetna grants tackle childhood obesity

The Aetna Foundation has awarded $150,000 in grants to two Jacksonville health care organizations working to prevent childhood obesity.
St. Vincent’s Mobile Health Outreach Pediatric Nutrition and Wellness Initiative, which provides free, hands-on lessons from a registered dietitian on exercise, nutrition and stress reduction to children in low-income neighborhoods, received $100,000.
The 2nd Mile ministries received $50,000 to help fund their Healthy Habits, Healthy Kids Initiative, which offers summer camps and year-round school programs to children in the Brentwood neighborhood.
