Health notes: Seven area hospitals receive A safety score from the Leapfrog Group

Baptist Medical Center Beaches, Flagler Hospital, Memorial Hospital, Orange Park Medical Center, St. Vincent’s Medical Center Riverside, St. Vincent’s Medical Center Southside and the Camden Campus of the Southeast Georgia Health System have all received A grades in the Leapfrog Group’s latest rating of hospital safety.

The Mayo Clinic and the Brunswick Campus of the Southeast Georgia Health System received B grades. Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville, Baptist Medical Center Nassau, Baptist Medical Center South and UF Health Jacksonville all received C’s.

Formed in 1998, the Leapfrog Group is a coalition of large employers who work together to influence the quality and affordability of health care. It releases hospital safety scores twice a year.
