On Oct. 1, St. Vincent's HeathCare opened the first new Clay County hospital in four decades . The $60 million 64-bed medical center, which was built with room for expansion, is expected to have an annual economic impact of at least $70 million.

Blain Claypool was named president of the new St. Vincent's Medical Center in Clay County. He started work in February, even though the hospital didn't open until October.
