Community Hospice of Northeast Florida will hold an open house for the new Community Hospice Center for Caring at St. Vincent's Medical Center Riverside.

The free event will be held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21 at the center, 1 Shircliff Way, Fourth Floor, Jacksonville, FL 32204

The 10-bed, 6,500–square-foot facility is Community Hospice's sixth and newest inpatient care center. The center has a home-like environment to help meet the short-term, acute care needs of patients with advanced illness, according to a news release.

The open house will feature information, tours and refreshments.

Established in 1979, Community Hospice helps individuals and their families in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties live with advanced illness at home, in long term care and assisted living facilities, in hospitals and at five inpatient care centers.
