St. Vincent's Seton Center for Women and Infants' Health is a wonderful resource for expectant and new Mothers.
Our programs are designed to educate you about how to stay healthy during pregnancy and in addition, prepare you for the birthing experience. The Seton Center also offers breast feeding support, classes for siblings and even safe sitter classes.

The Family Birth Place at St. Vincent's Riverside offers free tours of our private maternity suites every Tuesday (times vary). There will be a short presentation followed by a tour of the Maternity Suites. Please Note: If you are attending a childbirth class, a tour will be included with the class. So there is no need to take a separate tour. Preregistration is required.

The Family Birth Place at St. Vincent's Southside offers free tours of our private maternity suites and postpartum unit every Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. Preregistration is required.
These classes cover the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, changes during pregnancy, warning signs of pre-term labor, potential complications of pregnancy, what to expect during labor and birth, labor support and Lamaze techniques, hospital routines, analgesia and anesthesia, medical interventions, Cesarean birth, newborn care and postpartum recovery.
Classes are offered in four evening sessions or one Saturday session. Couples should attend a series that will end approximately four weeks before their due date.
Evening classes are 7pm - 9:15pm; Saturday classes are 9am - 5:30pm
Fee: $60.00. Medicaid Fee: $20.00/couple (include copy of card with registration form)

Attend this one session before the last month of your pregnancy. You'll learn how to prepare for breastfeeding, how to get started and tips on continuing to breastfeed after you go home. Classes are held from 6pm - 8pm

You may attend this class before or after your baby is born. The class covers basic safety concerns, how to prepare your home for a baby and the basics of infant CPR, along with demonstrations. Classes are held 7pm - 9pm

This class will prepare big brothers and sisters who are 4 to 9 years old for their new baby brother or sister. Classes are held from 5:45pm - 6:45pm. Milk and cookies are served. Parent(s) remain with their child(ren) and share the experience.
Girls and boys ages 11 and up will learn rescue skills, basic first aid and safe and nurturing childcare. Safe Sitters learn babysitting business skills, what to do when a child chokes, safety for the sitter and how to call for emergency help. Classes are held from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Class fee is $40. Pre-registration is required.

The Family Birth Place at St. Vincent’s Southside hosts a monthly breastfeeding support group, led by an international board certified lactation consultant.
A six-week series that covers labor and birth, comfort measures, hospital procedures and mother/infant care that includes breastfeeding. Finish class 30 days prior to due date. One night a week.
