Saturday Childbirth Classes
These classes cover the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy, changes during pregnancy, warning signs of pre-term labor, potential complications of pregnancy, what to expect during labor and birth, labor support and Lamaze techniques, hospital routines, analgesia and anesthesia, medical interventions, Cesarean birth, newborn care, and postpartum recovery.
Classes are offered in five evening sessions (three for only basic information or a refresher) or one Saturday session. Couples should attend a series that will end approximately four weeks before their due date.
Weekday classes are 7 p.m. - 9:15 p.m; Saturdays classes are 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Fee: $55.00. Medicaid Fee: $15.00/couple (include copy of card with registration form)

Monday Childbirth Classes
This class is intended for women who plan on having an epidural for delivery. You'll learn basic breathing and relaxation techniques. This class is offered on three consecutive Mondays from 7 p.m. - 9:15 p.m. Attend the series that ends approximately four weeks before your due date.
Fee: $55.00. Medicaid Fee: $15.00/couple (include copy of card with registration form)

Breastfeeding
Attend this one session before the last month of your pregnancy. You'll learn how to prepare for breastfeeding, how to get started, and tips on continuing after you go home. Classes are held from 7p.m. - 9:15 p.m.

Infant Safety Class
You may attend this class before or after your baby is born. The class covers basic safety concerns, how to prepare your home for a baby, and the basics of infant CPR, along with demonstrations. Classes are held 7 p.m. - 9:15 p.m.

Sibling Class
This class will prepare big brothers and sisters who are 4 to 9 years old for their new baby. Classes are held from 5:45 pm - 7p.m. Milk and cookies are served. Parent(s) remain with their child(ren) and share the experience. Pre-registration is required.

Safe Sitter® Class
Girls and boys ages 11 and up will learn rescue skills, basic first aid, and safe and nurturing childcare. Safe Sitters learn babysitting business skills, what to do when a child chokes, safety for the sitter, and how to call for emergency help. Classes are held from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Class fee is $40. Pre-registration is required.

St. Luke’s Hospital offers free tours of the maternity suites every
Saturday at 2 p.m. Call (904) 296-4345 to register for the tour. Call one hour prior to verify the tour will be held that day.

Safe Sitter Class at St. Luke's
The Safe Sitters classes (ages 11 and up) teach preteens and teens
how to safely care for infants.

Classes are held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Registration Details
