to your frequent questions.

What are the major disorders you treat?
The Spine & Brain Institute at St. Vincent's HealthCare treats patients with a variety of ailments, including epilepsy, stroke, degenerative disc disease, multiple sclerosis, and brain tumors.

What do you mean when you say you provide comprehensive care?
Our team of neurologists and neurosurgeons work together to treat patients and get them back to health as safely and as soon as possible. Working along side them is a neurosciences stroke coordinator providing information regarding treatment of stroke and follow-up to patients and a spine coordinator overseeing the care of spine patients. Together, they will be sure to make your road to recovery as smooth as possible.

Do you have an array of surgeons for me to choose from?
Yes. Our physicians specialize in diagnosing, treating and researching the hundreds of conditions and diseases that can affect the brain and nervous system. They each have extensive knowledge in their areas of expertise. We are sure you will find a physician that is perfect for you.

How long does rehabilitation take?
It all depends on your procedure and your willingness to work hard to reach your goals. We offer comprehensive treatment regimens that are designed to achieve the your personal life goals and your family's expectations. Our nurses and therapists will take every opportunity to reinforce the skills you need to overcome limitations and get back to living.

What is involved in the rehabilitation process?
Rehabilitation for patients following neurosurgery can involve everything from challenging physical conditioning and difficult dexterity and balance programs, to repetitive speech and language practice.
