St. Vincent's HealthCare is home to the largest cardiovascular program between Atlanta and Orlando. The program is centered in the Gary and Nancy Chartrand Heart & Vascular Center on the medical campus at St. Vincent's Medical Center Riverside.

Our doctors and staff at St. Vincent's Medical Center Riverside and Southside perform approximately 20,000 cardiovascular procedures each year, including diagnostic and non-invasive testing services, outpatient treatments, interventional procedures, and surgeries.

Pioneers In Open-Heart Surgery

St. Vincent's Medical Center Riverside was among the first to perform open-heart surgery in Jacksonville and now has the largest open-heart program in the region. Of all adult open-heart surgeries performed at Jacksonville hospitals, 30 percent happen at SVMC. 

Our PTCA and Stent Program

St. Vincent's Medical Center Riverside has the largest Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) and stent program in Jacksonville. Of all PTCA and stent cases performed at Jacksonville hospitals, 33 percent happen at SVMC; that's one-third more PTCA and stent procedures than any other Jacksonville hospital.
