Welcome

Founded in 1873, St. Luke's Hospital was the very first private hospital in Jacksonville, is the oldest private hospital in Florida, and the newest member of the St. Vincent's HealthCare Family, joining in 2008. The 313-bed facility, located on the Southside of Jacksonville, is a full-tertiary care hospital that serves inpatient, outpatient and emergency care patients. It maintains a community-based medical staff and excellent clinical support, strengthened by its affiliation with St. Vincent's HealthCare. By growing to meet the community's needs and by improving access to healthcare services, St. Luke's will continue to fulfill the mission envisioned when the hospital began more than 137 years ago.

Services

St. Luke's Hospital provides many of the same services offered at St. Vincent's Medical Center. The Spine & Brain Institute specializes in the treatment of brain tumors, stroke, epilepsy, as well as neurological and spine disorders. Our neurosurgery and neurology divisions are equipped with the best, state-of-the-art technology and staffed by talented physicians and staff capable of treating the most complex neurological disorders.

The Spine & Brain Institute at St. Luke's is also home to an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. It offers care for individuals who have seizures so severe that they cannot work, drive or enjoy daily activities. The Spine & Brain Institute has five convenient locations, including the first neurosurgery practice at the beach.

St. Luke's Total Joint Rehabilitation program, managed by Brooks Rehabilitation, is dedicated to the special needs of joint replacement patients who are discharged after surgery but not able to return home. This skilled nursing unit is one-of-a-kind in Jacksonville. During their stay, patients are exposed to a simulated kitchen and laundry area so they can learn adaptive techniques for a safe and functional return home.

The hospital's obstetrics program is well respected in the community. St. Luke's is home to The Family Birth Place, featuring single-room maternity care for mother, baby and family. Additional women's services include digital mammography, which is more beneficial than traditional mammography due to the high-resolution images produced.

The growing bariatric program at St. Luke's Hospital was among the first in the nation to offer the REALIZETM Adjustable Gastric Band-C, which helps the morbidly obese lose weight and improves obesity-related health problems. In addition, the Emergency Room at St. Luke's offers patients extraordinary care in a convenient location with minimal wait times.
