Description

For many people food has served many purposes beyond fuel. Success after surgery requires not only grieving the loss of this valuable friend, but also developing and utilizing non-food related coping skills. This class will focus on coping skills. The basics of both Cognitive behavioral techniques (CBT)– which target problems which are caused by “stinkin’ thinking” and dialectical behavioral techniques (DBT)which help people manage mood swings, over-reactivity, and crisis management.  Together the skills can help you reduce your need for emotional eating.
