Dr. Huson Gilberstadt Named Chief Clinical Officer

Huson Gilberstadt, M.D. has been named Chief Clinical Officer of St. Vincent’s HealthCare, a ministry of Ascension, the nation’s largest Catholic and non-profit healthcare system. In this new position, Dr. Gilberstadt will serve alongside Chief Operating Officer of Clinically Integrated Systems of Care, Tom VanOsdol.
Together, this dyad will oversee the development of regional clinically integrated systems of care, a key strategy as St. Vincent’s HealthCare moves forward with the expansion of population health. They will also be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the entire health system.
Since October, Dr. Gilberstadt has served as the Chief Medical Officer of the Acute Care division. Previously, he was a physician advisor at St. Vincent’s three hospitals and also worked for Emergency Medical Specialists of Jacksonville.
Dr. Gilberstadt grew up in Jacksonville and was born at St. Vincent’s, as were his father and three sons. He graduated from Ed White High School and then attended the University of Georgia. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He is board certified in emergency medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine.
