Penney Farms pitches in for St. Vincent’s

By Clay Today

The Arts & Crafts Department, an LLC under the Penney Retirement Community Inc., umbrella, and a not-forprofit organization, presented a $10,000 check to St. Vincent’s Medical Center Clay County on June 26. The gift completes the commitment of a $25,000 gift to the hospital. Jim Bailey, arts & crafts president, right, presented the check to Taylor Strasser, coordinator of Donor & Foundation Services for St. Vincent’s HealthCare. The Arts & Crafts Group generates most of its income through its annual Holiday Arts & Crafts show on the PRC campus. Members create a wide variety of items for the sale, including artwork, ceramics, stained glass, weaving, quilting, jewelry, Christmas decorations and woodworking. Last year, PRC residents volunteered for more than 125,000 hours on campus and the surrounding area. This year’s arts and crafts show and sale will be November 6-7.
