Health Notes: New St. Vincent's program aims to reverse heart disease

By Charlie Patton, Florida Times-Union

St. Vincent’s HealthCare is offering patients a new program, “Undo It With Ornish,” which is the first program that research suggests can reverse heart disease.

The program was developed by Dean Ornish, a physician who is president and founder of the nonprofit Preventive Medicine Research Institute as well as clinical professor of medicine at the University of California, San Francisco and a bestselling author.

The Ornish program is reimbursed by Medicare and other commercial payers for qualified individuals. St. Vincent’s will host its first Ornish session on Aug. 17.
