St. Luke’s Hospital gets fresh start
Jacksonville Business Journal - by Kimberly Morrison Staff Writer
Down the freshly painted hallways and tucked away in renovated waiting rooms are early signs of St. Luke’s Hospital’s rehabilitation.
Restoring the health of St. Luke’s is a process just beginning under the care and direction of a new CEO at St. Vincent’s HealthCare, which bought St. Luke’s two years ago. Facility upgrades and improved service lines are at the core of what Moody Chisholm has in store to turn around the 313-bed hospital and enable it to become a more viable player in the growing Southside market.
“This is a new day for this facility,” said Randall Hartley, administrator at the 24-year-old St. Luke’s.
Improving on quality at St. Luke’s has been a big push since Chisholm in February joined the ranks of Ascension Health, which owns both hospitals. That makes it especially good news to the pair of hospital executives that St. Luke’s received high marks on quality and patient satisfaction from two market research organizations for the health care industry.
